Hey everyone, it’s Laurie here! And I’ve got something on my mind that I think a lot of you might feel deep down but haven’t quite said out loud. Have you noticed how the balance between masculine and feminine energy in our society is getting a little… wobbly?

It feels like we’re living through a cultural reset: where roles, expectations, and energy dynamics are all being rewritten in real time.

More women are leading in business, education, and finances than ever before. We’re seeing women earn more degrees, start more businesses, and hold down both the emotional and financial fort at home. Meanwhile, there’s a growing number of men exploring their softer side — emotional awareness, vulnerability, and self-expression — which in itself is beautiful and necessary.

But somewhere in this shift, some of us are asking…

Where’s the fire? The grit? The bold masculine edge that used to bring balance to the world — and to our relationships?

We’re talking about what I like to call “The Sassy Men Apocalypse.” A playful term, sure — but it captures something real: a generation of men who are comfortable being adored, validated, and nurtured, but who sometimes fall short when it comes to leading, providing, or protecting.

Don’t get me wrong, women don’t want to go back to outdated gender roles. We’ve fought hard to stand on our own, to build businesses, lead companies, and own our independence. But the imbalance lies in the fact that as women rise, many of us find ourselves carrying both the masculine and feminine loads: the nurturer and the provider, the lover and the leader.

And that’s exhausting.

In relationships, this shift can create a quiet tension.

Many women are asking:

  • Why do I feel like I’m doing everything?
  • Why am I managing the emotions, the money, and the future.. while still being told I’m “too strong” or “too independent”?
  • Why am I expected to soften, when I’ve had to harden just to survive?

And on the flip side, some men are struggling to redefine what “masculinity” even means today. If success, stability, and strength are no longer their defining roles, then where do they fit?

Financially, we’re seeing the dynamic shift too — nearly half of American women are now the primary earners in their households. Women are buying homes, building wealth, and investing at record rates. But with that independence comes new relational expectations: if she no longer needs him financially, he has to show up emotionally, spiritually, and energetically in ways that go beyond the wallet.

That’s where the real conversation begins.

Because this isn’t about competition.

It’s about complementarity.

The feminine flow doesn’t want to dominate the masculine, it wants to dance with it.

So where do we go from here?

We start by acknowledging that both energies have value. The world needs the emotional intelligence and empathy that men are developing. But it also needs the "groundedness", direction, and accountability that true masculine energy provides.

We don’t need “sassy” men. We need balanced men.

Just as we need women who can be powerful and soft, ambitious and aligned, independent and open.

Because when women thrive without resentment, and men lead without ego, we create space for love, growth, and partnership that’s rooted in equality, not imbalance.

So as we continue this cultural conversation, let’s keep it real:

We don’t want to outshine men, we want them to rise with us.

We don’t want to carry everything, we want to share the load.

We don’t want to lead alone, we want to lead together.

And maybe, just maybe, that’s what elevation truly means.
